A Unique and Memorable Lodging Experience at Bonclarken

The historic Heidelberg Hotel, built as a private residence in 1886 and the most recognizable building on the Bonclarken grounds, is a unique and memorable lodging experience. It was on the front porch of this building that Robert S. Galloway, Sr. stood and thought to himself, “Can our little church ever own anything so beautiful as this?” In 1921, the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church purchased the house and surrounding grounds and founded Bonclarken.

With 19 rooms and four suites, the Hotel is large enough to accommodate groups up to 39. The historic construction and character of the building have been preserved, so heating and air-conditioning is not present. Consequently, the Hotel is only made available for lodging from May through September.
